Converted rope mill overlooking lake on Burgundy village edge

Nestled against a cliff-face, Moulin de Corde offers serene rural views and overlooks the Lac du Docteur Parisot. Located on the edge of the rural village of Recey-sur-Ource, the mill overlooks farmlets, the forest, a local sporting field and the meandering Ource river, where it is possible to fish once a license is obtained. A place to relax and unwind, Moulin de Corde is a quiet haven and a comfortable base from which to discover the delights of the Burgundy region or simply put your feet up and take in the fresh local air.

A leisurely amble along the lake's edge leads to the local swimming pool and recreation facilities, great for picnics, summer activities and family entertainment. During the height of winter the lake is a beautiful sight as it freezes over, much to the delight the local children. It is a short 5 minute walk to the Centre de Ville where you will find a well-stocked, and reasonably priced, épicerie (grocery store), boulangerie (bakery), pharmacy, post office and couffieur (hairdresser) should you require one. The owners highly recommend the boulangerie - when they stay, they visit daily for the freshest and finest of French fare.

Originally a rope mill, Moulin de Corde was built in 1856 but has been rejuvenated to include three well-sized bedrooms, a luxurious bathroom and two powder rooms, a spacious lounge and entertainment area with the warmth and atmosphere of an open fireplace. The entire building is centrally heated for warmth and its thick stone construction cools naturally for year-round comfort.

A well-appointed kitchen with an adjoining utility room, leads outside to the enclosed courtyard. Tucked in against the cliff wall, this is a great place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or simply watch the world go by. A seperate dining room is complemented with a cosy reading nook and the ambience of an open fire in the majestic, original Bourgogne stone fireplace. (Firewood is available at an additional cost and on request).

Moulin de Corde is suitable for small to large families and groups with ample space to socialise and unwind or to find a private hideaway. Set over 2 levels, Moulin de Corde comfortably sleeps from two to six people but up to ten guests can be accommodated. Each bedroom has its own name (Les Chambre Burgundy, d'Orient et Rose Michel) and is well furnished, all with queen-sized beds and spectacular views. A double, fold-out sofa bed located in the downstairs lounge sleeps 2. There are also 2 single fold-out beds available on request.

Prices for week-long stays range from $750 to $1000. Minimum pricing is based on up to 6 guests occupying Moulin de Corde, a supplement of $50 per additional person, per week is applicable.

A deposit of $250 for each week is due on booking, with the outstanding amount due 6 weeks prior to your holiday. A refundable security deposit of $250 to cover breakage or damage is also due with final payment.
