This picturesque village is set in the south of France, only 30 min to the Mediterranean and nestled just inside the Haut -Languedoc national park. The village has two boulangeries and a number of shops - the charcouterie is featured in Rick Stein's French Odyssey TV program. Good restaurants are located in and around town. Pernes-Les-Fontaines, a well-preserved small town at the edge of the Plateau de Vaucluse, is known for its many fountains. In the same street as our 'La Galerie' cottage are the Comtat Venaissin Costume Museum and a wood-fired boulangerie. The weekly village market, held on Saturday mornings along the banks of the River Nesque, is at the end of the street. The stone walls of the original Provence house have been preserved. New tiled concrete floors have been laid and a third floor and balcony, overlooking the street, added. There are two double bedrooms, one with an extra bed and a sitting room can also be another bedroom.
