Winter here is over but just about to start in France

Paris has its plage next to the Seine in summer but in winter you can iceskate next to it in front of the Hotel de Ville. Bien sur you can go skiing in the French Alps but there is also plenty more to do across Europe in hiver.

To read about European holidays in winter, click on the icon below for an article by Carolyn from:

If you can't get to Europe this year for the cold/snow, you can always make it seem like you are there with a painting of winter in France on your wall. We have a couple of Jacqueline's new works set in winter - one looking down from the hill of Montmartre and the other of Avignon winter rooftops; $90 each.

If this winter is too early for you, maybe go in summer with our 2011 EARLY BIRD SPECIALS for:

Indicators point to good time to buy in France now

Confidence would appear to be returning to the property market in France for the first time since the global downturn with property prices on the rise again. Brits are looking to buy up due to low interest rates and low relative property prices still. Aussies have even more incentive with the euro exchange rate being at an all time high. Occupancy rates for holiday homes in France are rated currently as good to excellent, read more:

Recipe for aligot (mashed potato with cheese)

This dish is traditionally made in the Auvergne region in the centre of France. The name of the dish is thought to have come from the words ail (garlic) and ligoter (bind):
