May 2010 newsletter

In this newsletter, covering the two months we are away in France for our tour, we feature
new properties for sale and real estate agents from two inexpensive regions of France,
give you details of upcoming French expos around the country and the Cannes film festival,
tell you about great places to visit in summer as well as a competition for a book about a
summer spent in France and a recipe for L'Opera (a little difficult to make but delicious).

A la prochaine
Sharon et David

PS: You can still make it on our tour of southwest France 21-25 June if you act quickly!

Good value houses for sale in central west France

The Limousin and Poitou-Charentes regions in the central west part of France are known for their rural, historic and unspoilt surrounds: green hills with old churches, castles and charming villages. However, what makes them even more attractive is that they are the least expensive regions, per avg m2, in the whole of France, according to the French real estate institute, making them the best value French areas (for $19.95 our regional guide provides more info like this).

French desire is pleased to now be associated with a group of agents selling properties in these regions:

Catherine Bower (left) covers the south Vienne and Indre. She originates from Yorkshire but moved to France with her husband to live their dream which they are doing and now helping others to realise theirs. Cathe also offers a property finding service and her husband Kelvin can manage properties post purchase.

John Norton covers the northern Haute Vienne and has been living in France since 1996. Originally a stonemason, he has a good understanding of, and can give advice on, old French buildings. Married to a local sheep farmer, he is bi-lingual so he can assist with the follow through of the whole buying process.

Beverley Hughes (right) has lived in France since 2003 and covers the north Dordogne, Charente and southern Haute Vienne. She, together with her husband and family, have found a pace and way of life that suits them. Bev likes the challenge of finding property that achieves the same quality of life others are seeking.

All three agents work together as a team to give clients a complete buying package. You can see some of their properties left, for all: click here. If you have any interest in these properties or Cathe/Kelvin's search and/or property management services, email us.
