French official winter (+ our) sales period now on

France has two official government dictated sales periods each year, one in winter and the other during summer. The current winter sales, which began on 7 January, continue until 17 February and the summer sales are on from 24 June to 4 August 2015.

To coincide with the French sales on now, we are reducing a number of items we have available online:

We have
new works of art available for sale:
- created last month by an international collective in response to the horrific massacre of Charlie Hebdo artists in Paris and to honour the two lives lost in the Lindt Cafe siege in Sydney, 'Stand Free' is available in 28.5 cm square prints for $89 (larger also available)
- quality prints of original drawings of the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur for $10 each as well as 'I Louvre You' Valentine's Day card for $5 each



Update on French properties for sale and for rent

Claira part share: In the last newsletter we told you about a friendly group of six couples who love “la belle France” and were seeking another to join their group. We had many enquiries and are pleased to say that a long standing French desire member is now part of the group which has also decided to rent their place through us. This 3 level, 3 bedroom house is situated in the heart of the rural Catalan village of Claira in the Languedoc. Alliance Francaise French Film Festival on again

The Alliance Française French Film Festival, is returning for its 26th annual season around Australia from early March until mid-April 2015.

With Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton as  patrons picking many of the 49 films on offer, this year's festival promises to be one of the best yet!

French chocolate recipes for La Saint-Valentin

Chocolate is the food of love, so why not make one of these chocolat delights for Valentine's Day: chocolate cake, chocolate marquise, chocolate mousse, chocolate souffle, chocolate tart, or eclairs.
