For ANZAC Day we remember the fallen in France
Almost a century after the battle of Fromelles during WW1, the remains of over 200 ANZAC troops have been discovered. They are currently being identified through DNA testing and will be recognised in a cemetery being constructed on this site, the first new one in 50 years.
This discovery is not the only recent link between Australia and France. Victoria and Villers-Bretonneux have been connected since WW1. Schoolchildren from this French village raised funds to send to those impacted by the Black Saturday bushfires last year.

France at Leisure takes tour groups each year to the French battlefields for ANZAC day celebrations - don't forget the specials on travel insurance, car leasing and accommodation F@L offers French desire members.
Le Somme and Flanders fields are only a few hours drive from Paris where you can stay at our apartment: www.frenchdesire.com.au/french-property-rental/paris44

Also missed this one at the FFF? Coco and Igor...
Coco and Igor brings together the making of Chanel no.5 and the passionate love affair between two artistic icons of the 20th century, pioneering French fashion designer Coco Chanel and the great Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. The movie was chosen as the Official Selection to close the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Set in Paris in 1920, Coco welcomes Igor and his family to her villa after the Russian Revolution so Igor can continue to compose and from there the romantic liaison begins. Review quotes include 'eye-catching, luxurious' and 'an impressive combo of sight and sound'. Coco and Igor is currently showing at cinemas around the country.
