The town of Ceret lies in the foothills of the Pyrénées mountains, in southern France. It is located close to Montpellier, Toulouse, Perpignan and the Spanish border/Barcelona. Céret is famous for its Museum of Modern Art, which has numerous Picasso works, and its Pont du Diable (Devil's Bridge) an arch stone bridge built in the 14th century when at the time it was the widest spanned bridge in the world. It is famous also for its cherry and bull running festivals. Ceret is an exceptionally beautiful place to be. It has a long-history of famous artists working in Ceret, its surroundings and to Collioure on the coast including Picasso, Matissea and Soutine.
