La Petite Folie in Tannay, Burgundy Approximately 2.5 hours drive from Paris, your journey into the heart of Burgundy is fast and easy via the A6 autoroute. Entering the Nievre region via Auxerre (below), Avallon/Vezelay or La Charite-sur-Loire is a fantastic way to start your Burgundy experience - from day one the towns, villages and country-side are simply breathtaking. Visit Monsieur at the charcuterie before douze heure et demi for some pates, terrines, savoury pastries or cured meats. Coupled with local wine (Tannay has at least 4 cellar doors offering locally produced wine), or perhaps a drop of some of the fantastic regional varieties: Vezelay, Chablis, Sancerre, Beaujolais or the world-famous Burgundy wines of the Cote d'Or. C'est la vie! The restaurants in Tannay and it's surrounding villages represent an array of delicious home-style cooking, all offering traditional 3-course set menus at very reasonable prices. The local supermarket is also quite large and offers much greater variety than can usually found in a village the size of Tannay.
La Petite Folie has been recently repainted, refurnished and fitted with new appliances. The house consists of kitchen, lounge/dining room, with bedroom and bathroom upstairs and includes: washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, gas stove/oven, microwave, LCD TV and DVD, including 140 cable-tv channels, unlimited free phone calls to many countries including Australia, radio/cd player with USB port, 2 sofas (one is a sofabed), king bed with new mattress, wall heaters in all rooms, fully renovated modern bathroom, heated towel rack, all linen/towels supplied, portable cot and linen, high chair. Off street parking is available via a driveway in the backyard. The house is non-smoking.
Rental cost: $730 per week (includes gas and electricity) as well as a $100 cleaning charge. Initial deposit of $400 required and there is a $400 refundable security deposit for bookings. Sat to Sat bookings preferred. To request a booking, click here.
