Relax in Tim's place on the Charente river overlooking castle
The village is surrounded by many forests and pretty French farmland. It is in a region known as the 3 valleys and the medieval village is officially classified as "one of the beautiful villages of France". Bakeries, a pub, a traditional french bar, restaurants, a general store supply the village.
The house itself has three bedrooms which can accommodate six people with a large master bedroom and two other double bedrooms overlooking the Charente River. The house has been completely renovated recently throughout and has lovely furniture.
There is a kitchen, large formal dining room/lounge with fireplace and orginal stone flooring, a toilet, a bathroom and a large attic. A canoe and bikes are available in the garage next door. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, washing machine(clothes)and all the kitchen utensils and crockery, pots, pans, kettle. Broadband wireless is available to guests free of charge as is a TV and DVD player. Linen, towels are provided.
Generally guests arrive at 4pm on a Saturday and depart by 10am on the following Saturday; however, the owner can be flexible on arrival days.
Rental is $750 a week and $2400 a month or $135 a night with min 2 nights. $200 deposit required on booking.
Tim's place is located in the south west of France between Paris and Bordeaux.
From Paris Montparnesse it takes 2hours 20 minutes by the TGV and less than 2 hours from Bordeaux.
The train stop at Ruffec and it is 6km by taxi to Vertueil which costs around 15 euro. Car hire is also available in Vertueil.
