Sanary sur Mer - traditional Provence village but by the sea

We fell in love with Sanary sur mer the 1^st  time we visited it. Our studio is situated right in the pedestrian “old” quarter of Sanary, a few steps away from the theatre, within easy walking distance of everything including the beach.It is just 50 mtrs from the picturesque port and yet tucked away on a lovely side street so you have privacy, peace & quiet.

Sanary is a picturesque Provencal village, traditional fishing harbour and hub of authentic cuisine in an enchanting setting.The “old” quarter of Sanary is the real heart & soul of the town. This charming and lively quarter bathes in a typically Mediterranean atmosphere and is lined with little lively pedestrian streets,shady squares, gardens & monuments.In addition to traditional shops and numerous restaurants,the streets offer many craft boutiques and art galleries. Over and above sea and sun, the town of Sanary is all about  “ Art de Vivre”  - Provence’s fabled quality of life throughout the year.

The port of Sanary is reputed as one of the most typical and authentic ports on the French Mediterranean coast. This very ancient natural harbour, located in the heart of town has maintained all the former charm of an ancient fishing harbour, coupled with modern nautical and maritime pleasures, a wide panel of  leisure activities for every age and taste, and thriving arts & crafts industry. All these make the town a lively and interesting destination throughout the year.

A traditional Provencal market is held every morning on the port, offering a delicious array of provencal food, fruit & vegetables, fish and flowers. Every Wednesday morning visitors hurry to the “grand marche” (big market) on the visitor’s quay & in the adjacent streets. An arts and crafts market is held on the port every evening from 8 p.m to midnight from 1 July to 31 August. The 'carre des artists' art fair is held from 15 July to 15 August in front of the Town Hall from 8 p.m to midnight.

Sanary sur Mer is located 30 min towards Nice from Marseille and close to Toulon as well as being on the TGV train line connecting Nice to Paris. It is recommended for all ages including 55 +, families with teenagers or young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The studio unit is situated on the ground floor and contains:

Rent: $500 May-Jun and Oct; $690 1-15 Jul and Sept; $720 mid Jul-end Aug; $400 Nov-Mar 2012. Also $40 cleaning fee. A $250 non refundable deposit required to secure a booking. Balance due 2 weeks before arrival. Security deposit/bond is $200. Please note, inside the apartment is non smoking.
