Gite for rent in the Perigord
This two level gite offers you the opportunity to experience” La France realle”. Situated in the ancient village of Lombraud, once there you will feel you have stepped back in time. This small village is surrounded by fields and forests and offers you the opportunity of partaking in authentic French village life. Lombraud is ideally situated, being only three kilometres from the beautiful canal town of Brantome in the Perigord Vert region. Brantome is resplendent with cafes, an abbey and subterranean caves. Each Friday, there is a local market which is popular with both locals and tourists from around the world. Lombraud is positioned perfectly for delightful touring of the Perigord Vert region. This region specialises in confit de canard, truffles and pate. The country side is beautiful and untouched, dotted with medieval villages and chateaux. The medieval city of Perigueux is also only 30 minutes away. The gite has been fully renovated and comprises 3 bedrooms upstairs (one with a double bed, another with a single bed and another with a double sofa bed) with wonderful views and a large living meals area with double French doors to the garden for alfresco living. The house is 250 years old and constructed of local stone. The renovation has maintained much of the original with inclusion of modern comforts. Furnishing and decoration is in keeping with the traditional French Style. A car is available for use, rates negotiable but cheaper than car hire companies. There is an English speaking resident of the village who will handle hand-overs and any problems you may have/advice you may need.
