Farm stay in the heart of the historic bocage region of Normandy

L'Auberdiere, a sympathetically renovated 18th century stone farmhouse set in 8 acres of its own pasture and orchard, is a spacious and comfortable home to relax in. Located in the stunning and tranquil Normandy countryside you can enjoy your very own rural paradise, from which to explore all that this incredibly diverse region has to offer. In walking distance from the small village of Campeaux, with its excellent restaurant, bakery, butcher and grocery shops; the house is a perfect base from which to explore all that Normandy has to offer. From the landscape to the culture and the cuisine, Normandy has something for everybody to enjoy!

The farmhouse offers the classic design and comfort you would expect from a sensitively restored historic building. With an eclectic mix of modern and traditional styling, you're sure to enjoy any stay, whether you're here to explore this incredibly diverse region or simply looking to get away from it all in the tranquility of the bocage countryside.

The heart of this stunning farmhouse is its spacious kitchen/diner. With its open fireplace and wood burning stove L’Auberdiere’s farmhouse kitchen provides the perfect haven from which to plan your sight-seeing trips at the large dining table, prepare a meal using fresh local ingredients or simply relax and read a book in front of the fire.

Three spacious bedrooms are designed to accommodate six guests in comfort and a cot is also available for young children. Our luxurious bathroom, with free-standing oval bath and walk-in rain cloud shower will provide the perfect relaxation from even the busiest day sightseeing. To ensure you remain connected with friends and family during your stay and have access to your internet resources, free WiFi access is provided throughout the property.

Calvados is a region known for it’s dairy farms and cider apples, the fruits of which you can enjoy on your doorstep at L’Auberdiere. Throughout the surrounding Normandy countryside the diversity of experiences to enjoy are truly mind boggling. Five minutes from the farmhouse is the European centre of the world famous A J Hackett adventure sports, at the Viaduc de la Souleuvre. The site offers bungee jumping, abseiling, Europe’s highest swing and many other activities for thrill seekers. For those interested in history, the region spans the centuries from William the Conqueror through to the D-Day landings and beyond: the world famous Bayeux tapestry, traditional weekly farmer and craft markets, the regional capital Caen, Mont St Michel (France’s second most visited tourist site after the Eiffel Tower, Honfleur historic harbour, St Malo’s pirate stronghold, Deauville, Le Mans (24 hour motor race), Rouen (capital where Joan of Arc was burnt at stake).
