The village of Venasque is an absolute visual delight situated on the spur of a rock high above the valley it overlooks. The history of the village is clouded as its earliest past is not recorded but there are several theories one of which dates back to the pagan worship of Venus.The baptistery is said to be one of the oldest religious buildings in France. The varied landscape speaks of this exceptional past and as we all know Provence has and is always associated with fields of sunflowers, lavender, thyme, rosemary and the vineyards of the nearby Rhone Valley are famous throughout the world.

Market gardens, orchards and of course the festivals are a tradition in Provence The village has been charmingly and carefully restored. It is very vital and alive during the warmer months and is a market centre for the cherry season.Venasque is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France..

The ‘maison du village’ cottage has two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, one with a fireplace. It includes a well equipped kitchen and from the fifth level the terrace overlooks the most fantastic panoramic view of the valleys below. The house is fully furnished and equipped with linen, towels, telephone, TV, vacuum cleaner, brooms, mops and all china, glassware, cutlery and necessary kitchen items. We have installed a system that is now available in France which provides internet & free telephone calls to landlines within France , Europe and Australia.

Price: $1,175 per week. $250 pw deposit and final payment approx 6 weeks before the rental.
