Apartment in beautiful Beaune in Burgundy for rent

Beaune, in the heart of the Cote d’Or (the home of burgundy wine), is a ‘city with attitude’. It is a walled city (the apartment is inside these walls) that can be explored by foot or by bike and it lies to the south-east of Paris, down towards the French/Italian Alps. You don’t need a car; it takes just under 2 hours by train. Venturing along, and beyond ‘les remparts’ (the city walls) can be done on foot or by bicycle.  Beaune has lots of great walking streets, restaurants, markets and cellars being the capital of the wine district.

Appartement Rose” is a beautiful, modern, spacious 2-bedroom living space situated on the third floor of an ancient building above a florist shop. It is accessed via a gorgeous, ancient stone spiral staircase. There is no lift facility. The apartment has a courtyard and there is a lovely square just outside.

Dining/Relaxation area

At the end of a day of walking/cycling/shopping, all you want to do is to flop into a little nook. The larger screen television and the sound system provide electronic entertainment if that is what you want, but the 3-seater couch and tub chairs make for a quiet place to read or just to think and dream. Cable TV offers all the usual French channels, but there are English channels as well. The skylight above can be adjusted to control for more/less fresh air and/or sunlight. [The couch folds out into a comfortable double bed with separate mattress; linen is under the seat.] As an open plan apartment, the dining area sits between the kitchen and entertainment areas. Plenty of room for all eating experiences, from fine dining to casual breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy the goodies bought from the nearby markets and stalls here. The high ceilings provide a feeling of openness, while retaining a sense of intimacy

Bedrooms

The main bedroom has plenty of floor and hanging space. A double-glazed skylight lets in sunlight when you want it, but can be closed with a draw-down blind if you want to sleep in. It can be opened to let in as much fresh air as you want. It comes with a double bed and double doona (duvet), all necessary linen, digital clock, reading lamps and even a lockable (and unlockable) safe!

The second bedroom was built over the space for the hot water storage. It is accessed via five steps. This is a very bright, sunny room and this is where the computer is set up with internet, providing you with opportunities for social media communication and to finish (or start) writing your novel. This bedroom has a double bed with two single doonas (duvets).

Kitchen

The kitchen contains all the cooking and eating items necessary for your stay. You will be able to create all manner of culinary delights from local ingredients bought in the many markets and stalls in and around Beaune. [This is your holiday, remember, so keep all unnecessary work to a minimum).

Here is a list of the white goods/implements available to you:
