Les Sables d'Olonne Les Sables is a seaside resort town on the Atlantic Coast about an hour north of La Rochelle and Ile de Re. It has a wide long fine white sandy beach right on the esplande as well as a colourful port area. The streets off the beach throughout the town are narrow cobblestone with plenty of market shops/cafes. In summer the beach and outdoor esplande cafes are filled with mainly French sunning themselves. More attractive now that the TGV runs there. For more information visit www.ot-lessablesdolonne.fr.
