La Roche Posay A medieval town located on the Creuse river, La Roche Posay has become a lttle bit of a tourist resort for the French because of its cultural heritage and the quality of its thermal springs. The water is very rich in selenium, a trace element with numerous therapeutic and dermatological benefits. The town's spring benefits have been well known and used for centuries with a lot of associated history. It is a charming place with a well laid out centre ville square with hotels/shops surrounding them. There are also a lot of activities that go with the town's resort nature eg casino, golf course, horse racing and of course spa treatments. The town also sits in the middle of a number of local provinces so has always been a focal point of the region with features such as the fortified 11th century tower on its romanesque church. |
