Ile Noirmoutier
Ile Noirmoutier is an island off the Vendee coast. It can be accessed by a bridge or by the Passage du Gois, a paved-over sandbank with a length of 4.5 kilometers which is flooded twice a day by the high tide (2011 Tour de France start). The island has great beaches, cute villages, salt farms (well known salt produced here and sold all over France and the world). |
