Grasse The old town of Grasse is set on a hill with many tiny, steep, cobblestone ancient stairs and streets which wind their way through 17th and 18th century buildings, arched tunnels and squares. It is the perfume capital of the world with over 30 perfume factories located near the city (three are open to the public). Grasse is surrounded by beautiful countryside with many fields of flowers which supply the perfume factories but is only 15 km north of the Riviera city of Cannes.
