Geneva While Geneva is mostly a city in Switzerland, part of it is also in France. Lake Geneva acts as a natural border to separate the two countries. Geneva is home to many international organisations such as the UN, World Health and Trade Organisations. Geneva is a lovely lakeside city which is worth a visit. Nearby mountains tower over the city which is also a particularly good launching spot for the French Alps. One of the city's most striking landmarks is the jet d'eau, the water jet that shooots more than 100m into the air. Given hiring cars from France is much cheaper than other European countries, this is worth noting for planning French and European driving holidays. All French car companies also offer a lease arrangement where you actually purchase the car then they buy it back after your trip.
