Hotel De Ville

The Paris Hotel de Ville is the city hall of Paris. It is in the 4e arrondissemen an stands on the place de l'Hôtel de Ville (formerly the place de Grève). One one side is the Seine (and Paris islands) and the other the rue de Rivoli (metro stop Hotel de Ville). Since 1357 this location has served the municipality of Paris with the local administrative function as well as being the venue for large receptions and regular exhibitions (http://www.paris-museums.org/museums_more.php?id=224). During winter, in the square is an outdoor skating rink. Often there is a carousel in the corner of the square (and a McDonalds across the street, if you have kids good to know!).
