Sacre CoeurThe Sacre Coeur (sacred heart) basilica sits on top of the Butte de Montmartre one of the few hills in Paris and its white dome structure can be seen from all over the city. Instead of climbing up the many flights of stairs to reach the Sacre Coeur, you can take the funiculaire (lift) up the hill. The view from the top of the hill itself as well as from the dome in the church is excellent. Its steps provide a great meeting and sitting place for many young people and tourists alike. Just around the corner from the basilica is the Place du Tertre a square surrounded by cafes and quaint shops filled with artists selling their works.
