Champs ElyseesThe Avenue des Champs Elysees is the most famous street in Paris and possibly the world. It runs for 2km from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde with its pink marble obelisk. The street is made up of shops (including Louis Vitton), cinemas and cafes/restaurants (most famous is Fouquets) closer to the Arc de Triomphe end and park lined footpaths at the other end with the Petit Palais and Grand Palais in between. On Bastille Day a military parade makes its way along the Champs while jets fly overhead. It is the most expensive strip of real estate in Europe. Return to places to see paris |
