Saint Flour Saint-Flour's medieval village sits on the region's highest volcanic outcrop and is surrounded by the mountainous landscape of the Massif Central. Saint Flour is located about 225 km south of Paris on the free autoroute A75 that starts heading south from Clermont-Ferrand. It makes an good stopover between Paris and the south of France. It is a quaint village to walk around. The black basalt rock found in this volcanic region can been seen in many of the buildings including the St Pierre Cathedral with its view over the countryside. In summer, the streets feature many festivals and markets are held on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.
