Our most recent trip to France - more properties for us and for our tour group
We were not the only Aussies in France at the time involved with French property – we took a group on our tour of the south-west France. Over the week, the group saw a lot of properties and in/around our historic and beautiful region as well as being treated to a few surprises along the way including a lively, medieval festival. Our Le Boupere property is now ready to rent out to French tenants who should fully cover our repayments with rental. We look forward in the future to staying in the property ourselves to make use of the very large bedrooms, attractive courtyard, David’s favourite out-building and 12th century fortified church views – for more photos of the property click here. The apartment in Isle sur la Sorgue, which we purchased jointly with friends, should rent relatively easily to people holidaying in Provence. As well as being a great market and antique town, it is also at the north-west gateway to the region, with transport available just around the corner to nearby tourist destinations including Avignon, Fountaine-de-Vaucluse, Aix -en-Provence and Marseille – for more photos of the property click here. If you would like to rent this property, click here or send us an email. Starting at the picturesque seaside port of La Rochelle, the tour then headed to Pouzauges and further east where local real-estate agents took people to many an amazing property. Most houses were priced at under 100,000 euro but a few were tempted to set their sights higher at 250,000 euro, still well under $0.5M AUD, for bourgeoise mansions or stately maisons with 8-9 bedrooms. Everyone had their favourite place including the shoe shop next to our Le Boupere house, popular with all the girls. One person went even further to sign, and have had accepted, an offer on a two bedroom, livable stone cottage which they secured for only $75,000 AUD and don’t they look happy about it…felicitations Sue! |
