Our members' success stories fulfilling dreams
Todd came to Melbourne workshop in February then headed off to France in June to buy a property. The day after meeting up with David, Todd found his own place in Burgundy in the village of Tannay. He got the house (top left) for a better price than the 71,000 euro it was advertised for and while more than his budget, there was hardly any initial work to do. After waiting for, then deliberating over paperwork including plumbing plans, Todd is now waiting again but fingers crossed all will go well - we will follow Todd's journey in future newsletters...
Yvette, armed with our e-guide and renting our Pouzauges house for a month while property searching, put in an offer on a little farmhouse about 5km from Vouvant (left) which is a pretty, medieval Vendee village, host to artists and international tourists alike. The house was in great order, fully furnished as it was a holiday home for an English couple and only cost a mere 43,000 euros! With relatives from Brittany, Yvette wanted to buy close to there but in an area with a milder climate. Willing to put up with the cool for Brittany's bold beauty, Annette, assisted by our workbook and after guide, last month purchased a wonderful 3 bedroom house (bottom left) in the village of St Connan. She plans to take her 3 children for a month over Xmas, so hopefully all will be settled by then - bon chance!

More success stories you can share and rent

After also attending one of our workshops, Brisbane couple Paul and Donna purchased a 2 bedroom village house in the lovely Languedoc. They rent it out for only $500 AUD a week and have plenty of availability for 2009 and 2010. The village is only 30 minutes from the Mediterranean and is surrounded by vineyards - the local charcouterie has even been featured in Rick Stein's French Odyssey program.

Sallie's 15th century historic stone house (left) is located in the bustling, picturesque bastide Lot Valley village of Monflanquin. The house has been lovingly renovated to enhance its original features offering light and airy rooms, wooden floorboards, fireplaces and two beautiful bedrooms. The house can sleep 8 and rents for $800-1,000 AUD a week.
