Elaine writes of her experiences opening and running the first Australian bookshop in Paris. Not dissimilar to Mary Moody, she leaves her family including grandchildren to live her dream in France. The bookshop was set up in the St-Germain-des-Pres left bank area and became a home away from home for many Australian writers in Paris. Left Bank Waltz is an interesting enough book. It gives the reader insights into french bureaucracy and the little known cultural links between Parisians and Australians.
